About CUA

The Catholic University of America, located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is unique as the national university of the Catholic Church in America and the only higher education institution founded by the U.S. bishops. Established in 1887, the university opened as a graduate research institution and undergraduate programs were introduced in 1904.

  • CUA offers a top academic experience.  CUA has 12 schools, all of which offer graduate degrees.  Undergraduate degrees are awarded by seven schools.

  • CUA students interact with outstanding full time faculty from their first days on campus.  The student to faculty ratio is 9:1.
     
  • CUA students are a part of a community of faith. There is a very active campus ministry offering many venues for spiritual devotion and growth.
     
  • CUA offers a wide range of programs.  With over 6,400 students working toward degrees in 235 programs, CUA offers an outstanding array of educational opportunities.
